The Scriptures can often seem strange and forbidding, even for Christians who are committed to their truth and authority. Yet, with the guidance of the Scriptures themselves, a vast array of faithful voices from the tradition, gifted contemporary Christian readers, and expert scholars, texts that were once closed to us can be opened up. This introductory course, which requires no knowledge of biblical languages, will train students in some essential skills for Scripture readers, equipping them to read the Scriptures on a deeper level. Taught by Alastair Roberts. Runs 2/3 – 4/10/20.

Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip the Evangelist once asked. To which the Ethiopian Eunuch replied, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” The Scriptures can often seem strange and forbidding, even for Christians who are committed to their truth and authority.
