This course will solidify your knowledge of Latin grammar, strengthening and broadening your vocabulary, particularly for reading theological texts, and improving your reading and translation skills. You will master the vocabulary from Richard Muller’s Dictionary of Latin and Greek Theological Terms, will review grammar with the aid of Randall Meissen’s Scholastic Latin, and will read and translate passages from the Vulgate, the Tremellius-Junius-Beza Latin Bible, and from a range of theologians throughout church history (including Augustine, Calvin, and Beza). It takes place over the course of 15 weeks, with 1-1.5 hrs. of recorded lecture, a 1.5-hr. live online class, and 6-8 hours of homework time each week.
