Lecture Access Only
Students purchasing lecture access for any course will, upon payment, receive access to all course materials, including syllabus, suggested exercises, and links to video lectures, for exactly six (6) months, after which point their access will be suspended. Students are asked not to download materials or seek to retain access beyond the 6-month window; attempts to do so will be treated as a breach of contract. Students may purchase an additional 6-month of access to materials extension for 50% of the original lecture access cost.
Tutorials
Students purchasing tutorials for any course will, upon payment, receive access to all course materials, including syllabus, suggested exercises, and links to video lectures, for exactly six (6) months, after which point their access will be suspended. Students are asked not to download materials or seek to retain access beyond the 6-month window; attempts to do so will be treated as a breach of contract. Students may purchase an additional 6-month of access to materials extension for 50% of the original lecture access cost.
They will be assigned a qualified Latin tutor, who will contact them to set up a schedule of assignments and sixteen (16) one-hour online tutorial sessions, using Cisco’s WebEx video-conferencing platform or another mutually agreeable medium. Tutors will make themselves available, within reason, to answer questions about the course material and exercises, and will review submitted exercises prior to each tutorial session. They will also grade assignments as provided for in the applicable course syllabus.
Students, for their part, will be responsible to attend all scheduled tutorial sessions, or, if unable to do so, to notify their tutor and try to reschedule with at least 24 hours notice. Failure to do so will result in the session still being counted as one of their sixteen. Students requiring additional sessions ($35 each for Introductory courses, $40 each for Intermediate or Advanced) may request them from their tutor and the program manager, Brad Littlejohn. Students will be responsible to complete assignments on the schedule they have negotiated with their tutor, and to notify their tutor if this schedule needs to be adjusted. If a student fails to complete assignments or communicate with their tutor about their coursework for a period of one month, they will be assumed to have dropped the course and the tutor will no longer be required to supervise their work.
Students may withdraw from their tutorial program at any point, and be eligible for a partial refund, as follows:
- Their lecture access purchase will be entirely nonrefundable. (Correspondingly, however, they will retain their six months’ access even if they withdraw.)
- A $100 processing fee will be charged for withdrawal at any point, to be subtracted from the refundable amount.
- The cost of all tutorial sessions already undertaken, plus the cost of the next three scheduled sessions ($35 each for Introductory courses, $40 each for Intermediate or Advanced) will be subtracted from the refundable amount.
Courses
Students enrolling in any course will be sent an invoice for the cost of the course plus lecture access payable twenty-one (21) days before the course start date. For Intro level courses, students will be responsible to purchase the corresponding BibleMesh courses separately prior to the beginning of the course. Students will be given access to all course materials beginning two weeks in advance of the course start date, and will retain access until two weeks after the end of the course. Students are asked not to download materials or seek to retain access outside of this window; attempts to do so will be treated as a breach of contract.
The schedule for live class sessions on Cisco’s WebEx video-conferencing software will be confirmed no later than two weeks before the course start date; students will be contacted prior to this date to determine their availability so that as many as possible may be accommodated. Students who are unable to fit the live class sessions into their schedule will have the option to drop without penalty or to switch to a different version of the course.
Once the course begins, instructors will make themselves available, within reason, to answer questions about the course material and exercises, and will review submitted exercises prior to each live class session. They will also grade assignments as provided for in the applicable course syllabus. Students will be responsible to attend all scheduled live class sessions and complete all required assignments. If a student fails to complete assignments or communicate with their instructor about their coursework for a period of one month (two weeks in the case of the Intensive format courses; two months in the case of the Flexible format courses), they will be assumed to have dropped the course and the instructor will no longer be required to supervise their work.
Students may withdraw from their course at any point, and may be eligible for a partial refund, as follows:
- Their lecture access purchase will be entirely nonrefundable. (Correspondingly, however, they will retain a total of six months’ access even if they withdraw.)
- Students withdrawing within the first three weeks of the course (one week in the case of Intensive format courses) will be charged an $80 processing fee, to be subtracted from the refundable amount. Instead of receiving a refund, students may opt to have the refundable amount credited toward a tutorial program or future course.
- Students withdrawing between three and seven weeks into the course (one and two weeks in the case of Intensive format courses) will be charged an $80 processing fee, plus 50% of total tuition costs, to be subtracted from the refundable amount. Instead of receiving a refund, students may opt to have the refundable amount credited toward a tutorial program or future course.
- Students withdrawing more than seven weeks into a course (two weeks in the case of Intensive format courses) will not be eligible for any refund; however, they can get 50% of their tuition (minus an $80 processing fee) credited toward a tutorial program or future course.
