Help Us Do More in 2025. And Help Us Do It Best.

Five years ago, I found myself drawn to The Davenant Institute because of its rich theological publishing. Friendships drew me in deeper. Soon, I came to see The Davenant Institute as my theological home, a place to pursue wisdom alongside Christian thinkers and friends—so much so that three years ago I joined the board of The Davenant Institute. Then just this year, I began serving as Executive Director of The Davenant Institute.

I never could have anticipated this turn of events, and I count it a blessing and privilege to serve alongside our army of friends at The Davenant Institute. Yet the Davenant Institute has long served the church before I arrived on the scene.

For eleven years, we have retrieved the riches of classical Protestantism to renew and build up the contemporary church. Through our friends and co-workers, we have published dozens of books, grown our network of scholars at leading evangelical and Reformed institutions, educated students from all walks of life through Davenant Hall, and most recently used a prestigious Lilly Grant to serve a group of local pastors through an innovative study program on congregational life in a digital age

These advances in our mission represent only the beginning of our story. Over the next few years, we plan to increase the number of books published by Davenant Press, multiply our in-person events, deepen our teaching roster at Davenant Hall, and ensure that we serve the needs of congregations and institutions in our collaborative effort to renew and build up Christ’s church.

Our commitment to retrieving wisdom from the past for the church today means that in 2025, among much else, we will release beautiful new hardback editions of our Peter Martyr Vermigli Library, begin work on a new initiative to edit and release the works of John Davenant, and continue to publish original works that engage the sanctified imagination of American Protestants as we have done with our recent publication Life on the Silent Planet: Essays on Christian Living from C.S. Lewis’s Ransom Trilogy.

Building on the success of prior years, we will advance in our mission of renewing today’s church with past wisdom. And how could we not? When Christ promised to build his church, he meant it. The gates of Hades have not nor ever will overcome Christ’s bride. The Spirit and the gifts are ours. And as we gaze into this great tradition that the Spirit of Jesus has granted us in the spiritual and intellectual life of Protestantism, we find a unity of Spirit, a communion of saints, and a firm foundation.

Many Christians today feel isolated, unsteady, and without an anchor. Given our common inheritance in the riches of our Protestant past, we must not let our people and our churches remain so. We must share this bounty of our rich past to renew the contemporary church.

But we cannot do this without you.

Over the next few weeks, we will be asking generous donors like yourself to give to our mission. Please do not skip past this. We need your help.

Will you donate today?

If you do so before December 20th, your gift will even be matched by a generous donor. That means each dollar you give counts twice. Do not let this opportunity pass you by.

Blessings in Christ,

Wyatt Graham
Executive Director
