Leadership Transition at the Davenant Institute

On Friday 19th of April 2024, the Davenant Institute Board of Directors accepted Colin Redemer’s resignation from his role as Executive Director.

Colin has served Davenant energetically and well for eight years as an employee and left when a mutual decision was reached that although he and the board shared a commitment to Davenant’s mission and vision, they differed on how best to achieve them.

Davenant is grateful to Colin the immense amount he has contributed to our work—as our first outside employee, co-founder of the Ad Fontes podcast and Davenant Hall, Philosophy lecturer for Davenant Hall, and most recently as Executive Director leading our day-to-day operations.

We wish Colin well in his future endeavors as he steps out to take on his next engagement, and are grateful for all he has done for Davenant during his time with us.

On Friday 19th April, the Board also appointed Nathan Johnson as Interim Executive Director. Nathan is a well-known individual within Davenant as the current Provost of Davenant Hall, and brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and appreciation for Davenant’s core mission. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Humanities at Faulkner University, and holds two M.A. degrees in Biblical Studies and Theological Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary and an M.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College. Currently, he serves as Assistant Dean of Academics and Professor of Moral Philosophy at New College Franklin.

The Davenant Board of Directors is currently forming a presidential search committee for the organization’s next permanent leader, and is excited for what the Lord has in store for Davenant in this next chapter.
