This course, taught by Charles Carman, is designed for students who have taken 1 year of Greek but want to train themselves to the task of reading Koine Greek without the aid of a dictionary or a grammar. This course will continue through the entire year (divided into Parts I & II), and will include readings from the Septuagint and Eusebius’ Ecclesiastical History. In addition to reading the Greek text, students will also write, speak, and hear Greek both in class and in assignments at home.

The course runs from August 24 through December 11.

Charles Carman is the Lead Instructor for the Davenant Language Institute and a Ph.D Candidate at Catholic University of America, where he studies the interactions of the Latin and Greek Churches with the Syriac Churches during the Early Modern Period.
