Introduction to Theological Latin, Pt. III

This is the final part of a three part introduction to the Latin language. By the end of the course students will have completed Lingua Latina and been introduced to the major grammatical concepts in Latin.

Description

This Language course will be taught by Charles Carman, and will run from April 11th to June 17th. The syllabus will be available soon.

This course is designed to further enhance student’s translation and reading ability in Latin, especially through extended conversations in Latin in class Through Lingua Latina, Picta Dicta, and other resources, this final class will focus on rounding out the grammar and the student’s active knowledge of Latin, with an aim to reading poetry or prose in their future studies.


Charles Carman (MA, New St. Andrew’s College) is a Ph.D candidate at Catholic University of America in the Church History Program, focusing on Syriac, Latin, and Greek. Charles has been a long-time partner with The Davenant Institute in a teaching capacity as director of our language programs.


Online only, runs 10 weeks, meeting 1.5 hrs./wk. via Zoom. Students will also be able to participate in class discussion in the Davenant Common Room Discord server.
